Everyman Cinema Broadgate

At Broadgate’s new Everyman cinema the reels are rolling.  So why would Barbican neighbours be encouraged to switch their cinema-going allegiance from the Barbican Centre’s three screens to those of the Everyman? It depends on your priorities – and maybe time constraints. At the ground floor entrance there’s a small café/bar with agreeable outdoor seating but downstairs the renovation to boutique-style cinema with large well stocked bar and hot food bistro is well styled and impressive. In the three auditoriums colourful comfy double seat sofas have wooden side tables for drinks and food. Space between the rows is extra wide. Yes, you can eat and drink (and have it brought to you) while watching the film – though when I visited my film neighbours just enjoyed in-screen drinks.

There’s obviously a schedule of films, but also of live satellite broadcasts and other events. For frequent visitors there’s a three-option membership program providing ticket offers and food, drink and cinema private hire discounts, plus no booking fees.
